The Al Ummah Foundation Board Members

Al Ummah Foundation Board members consists of group of school friends who have been together for over thirty years. Alhumdililiah, we are proud to say all our trustees give their time and energy on a voluntary basis, and do not take a wage or any money for personal expenses.

Kamil Miah

Chair, Board of Trustees
Kamil is a senior manager for a large corporate company and has worked within management for over two decades. He specialises in leadership, operations, complex projects, and change management process. His skills involve making sound strategic decisions in high pressured situations. As a successful leader and mentor he has helped many people to succeed in their pathways. Kamils’ parents dedicated their lives to their family and giving charity, and it is their teachings that gave him a passion for helping those in need and less fortunate. Outside of his working life, he travels and explores the world, learning about the different cultures and religions is a great interest of his. His extensive experiences has helped him in dealing with people of all ages, culture and backgrounds. His main priority is spending time with his family as well as striving to make Al Ummah Foundation flourish. Kamil is a visionary leader, he believes that “You make a living by what you earn” and “You make a life by what you give “

Sayef Ahmed

Member, Board of Trustees

In addition to his role as a trustee to the Al Ummah Foundation, Sayef also works as a Driver Standards Manager for a train operating company having previously driven trains on Britains rail network for nearly two decades. His experience in management and marketing from renowned companies like the John Lewis Partnership, Virgin group of companies, London Overground and Arriva Rail, combined with his expertise in strategic planning, decision-making, stakeholder relationships, marketing, and administration, contribute to his valuable insights and contributions to the foundation. Sayef actively promotes Al Ummah Foundation’s initiatives, raises awareness, and ensures efficient project implementation. His unwavering dedication, strong leadership, and ability to navigate challenges make him an asset to Al Ummah Foundation, allowing him to contribute effectively to its goals.

Abdul Karim

Member, Board of Trustees

Abdul Karim is an IT consultant. He has over 15 years of experience in IT industry working as Linux Devops engineer for large multi-national banks and financial institutions specialising in configuration management solutions, automation and server security.
In his spare time he dedicates his time running Al Ummah Foundation and other charities.
