Yes, we are still in shock!
Alhamdulillah.
As trustees of Al Ummah Foundation, we just couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw the first pictures of our food distribution in Gaza delivered by courageous and humble volunteers on the ground!
Our hearfelt gratitude to all our donors, supporters, volunteers and Unite 4 Humanity (esteemed charity partner) and of course, Allah for making this possible.
Tears rolled uncontrollably; mixed with pain, joy and hope amid the backdrop of total destruction! It felt surreal but our prayers have been answered and to see beneficiaries particularly, children being able raise a smile after a long time.
It was absolutely worth it but naturally, it’s tinged with sadness that they are having to endure so much pain and suffering…there are no words, pictures speak a thousand words!
We were so fortunate to partner with other charities operating in Gaza and jumped at the opportunity to play our part in helping the oppressed people in Gaza.
Local volunteers delivered hot meals after preparing and cooking on site to people living in makeshift shelters, refugee camps or what’s left of their homes as most have turned to rubble. They also delivered vital food packs to people who were unable to collect hot meals…
We are aiming to safely deliver flour packs to people in north Gaza who are starving as humanitarian aid is restricted in that area due to the ongoing bombing.
We are requesting all our donors to actively participate by sharing this message with friends and family while donating generously during this blessed month of Ramadan.
Please continue to donate generously.
The reward of feeding a fasting person is immense and incalculable during this testing time in the history of humanity. Allah knows best.
We are optimistic that lives can be saved if there is peace in the hearts of people and safe corridors created so that vital aid can get through safely.
*We live in hope…*
